Together, We’re Sowing The Seeds of Growth.

Gardening isn’t just about growing plantsβ€”it’s about fostering connections, building resilience, and empowering communities. Thanks to the support of customers like you, for every purchase you make, we donate a packet of seeds to gardens and communities in over 40 regions worldwide. From small towns in Canada to remote villages in Africa, every seed packet helps nourish a garden somewhere else in the world.Β

Our Impact Through the Years
  • A Tradition of Giving: For over 10 years, we’ve been partnering with schools, community gardens, and grassroots organizations to help spread the joy of gardening.

  • 130,000 Seed Packets Donated Last Year: Each packet went to a community ready to plant, grow, and thrive.

  • Reaching Communities Worldwide: From Canada to the USA, and countries like Nepal, Senegal, and Ukraine, our seeds are growing in every corner of the world.

A Community Without Borders

Our mission is about more than just providing seedsβ€”it’s about creating lasting change and fostering growth worldwide. We’re proud to support communities across the globe, helping individuals grow their own food and thrive.

By partnering with local leaders, schools, shelters, and non-profits, we ensure every packet of seeds reaches those who need it most. These seeds grow fresh food, teach sustainable gardening, and inspire the next generation of gardeners.

Our goal is simple: to spread growth and help as many communities as possible. Together, we’re building a greener, more sustainable futureβ€”one seed at a time.

We’d love for you to discover the incredible communities and gardens we work withβ€”thriving on their own and doing amazing things worldwide.

Glenora Farm: Curative Education and Social Therapy

The Ita Wegman Association’s Glenora Farm, located in the Cowichan Valley, supports adults with complex developmental disabilities through therapeutic programs in farming, arts, and community living. On this organic-transitioning farm, companions work alongside staff and volunteers in workshops that foster skills, self-worth, and empowerment. Glenora Farm also gives back by redistributing over 2,000 lbs of surplus produce annually to local organizations like the Cowichan Valley Basket Society and Nourish Cowichan, strengthening food security and building a sense of community.

Green and Gold

The Green & Gold Community Garden, located on the University of Alberta’s south campus, has long benefited from West Coast Seeds’ donations. Run entirely by volunteers, this organic garden grows over 60 varieties of produce and supports the Tubahumurize Association in Rwanda, raising over $413,000 for marginalized women since 2009.

The garden also serves as a vibrant community space, hosting markets, offering educational tours, and providing a welcoming environment for volunteers of all ages, including newcomers to Canada. Its impact reaches far beyond gardening, fostering connection, learning, and support for global causes.

Seeds of Love

Since 2007, Shelters International Disaster Response has partnered with us on the "Seeds of Love" project to support Haitian farmers. By diversifying crops and creating school and community gardens, we’ve empowered local farmers to grow their own food, reducing the need for imports. Through companion planting, organic pest control, and hands-on education, Haitians now cultivate a wider variety of crops, making a lasting impact on their livelihoods.

We’ve loved being a part of Haiti’s journey toward a sustainable future, helping communities thrive from seed to harvest.

Our Partners in Green

Our mission is rooted in the belief that a single seed can spark meaningful change. With every order you place, we donate a seed packet to communities worldwide, supporting those in need and empowering individuals to grow their own food. Our seeds are growing in every corner of the worldβ€”from Canada to the USA, and in countries like Mexico, Nepal, Africa, and Ukraine.

Through partnerships like the "Seeds of Love" project with Shelters International, we’re proud to help Haitian farmers build sustainable farms. Collaborations with Thrive for Good equip communities across Africa to cultivate Life Gardens, improving food security and combatting poverty. Closer to home, the Green & Gold Community Garden at the University of Alberta uses our seeds to benefit marginalized women in Rwanda and foster community learning.

These are just a few of the many gardens and projects we’re privileged to support. Every seed shared is a step toward a greener, more connected worldβ€”one where communities thrive and nature flourishes.

Thank you for helping us grow this vision, one seed at a time. Together, we’re planting hope around the globe.
