Providing a more recent review. Purchased these seeds in fall 2025, started indoors in spring 2026, and have had excellent germination. Plants are growing strong and healthy, despite limited attention.
I’ve always had great success with these oregano seeds and they’re quite hardy and great customer service! They got back very quickly and got my seeds on the way thank you Westcoast seeds 👌🏽
Very interesting variety. When I harvested it, I was unsure as the tubers were pretty small. I was hoping it had something ''special'' otherwise it was not worth it. Fortunately it is special.
The pros;
- The quality of the mash potato is exceptionnal. The type of potato you get in good restaurents. You will notice the difference right away when mashing them. It is very thick and creamy naturally. In the picture, you can see the thickness with barely any butter. I think it can be described as a ''cream''.
- It stores exceptionally well, longer than the red skinned varieties. The potato i'm holding in my hand is 8 months old and still firm!
- It is very hardy. Most of my other variety of potatoes suffered due to drought but all the tubers were intact on this one.
The cons;
- Not the most productive variety due to small tubers.
Great germination rate and prolific blooms. Noticed the colors became a bit more muted as it started to get a bit cooler. WCS have my favorite marigold seeds. They kept blooming until the last frost in Alberta.
