The beneficial Terranem predatory nematode Heterorhabditis bacteriophora is the most aggressive species in hunting down and killing thick skinned soil grubs, including the larvae of the European chafer, Japanese beetle, Black Vine Weevil, May and June beetles, and the Asiatic Garden beetle. This nematode is also the best biological control for wireworms, which are the larval stage for the click beetles of the family Elateridae.
