We started in Oct 2023, from a Neighbourhood Small Grant. We offer free seeds that can be planted in that specific month to our Fraserview community of over 200 people.

We also made a website that has more information about the monthly seeds, recipes for that month’s harvest and what to do in your garden.

We often link out to information on West Coast Seeds. The information changes monthly in order to stay relevant and timely.

I hope to provide the ability to garden and grow food to everyone in our area, especially as we live in a mixed socioeconomic area. Moving on from this, I would like to share the information needed to learn how to save seeds so that anyone can continue to grow their own food regardless of their circumstances.

Given our mixed socioeconomic area, we feel that gardening helps bring fresh food to those in our area. The free seeds from the library and the resources proved by the website make it more accessible for those around to learn how to garden, even if only in pots.

We are just getting started but this is purely a volunteer organization (just me and my family) but I want to branch out and work with local schools with gardens to start seed saving and contribute back to the library.
